DePaul's Currie to Miss Remainder of Season

CHICAGO - DePaul senior guard Jabari Currie will miss the remainder of his senior season with torn meniscus in his left knee. Tests done Monday morning confirmed the injury and he will undergo surgery in early March. Currie stands as the lone four-year senior on DePaul’s roster and finishes his collegiate career with 112 career games.

“Obviously I am devastated that Jabari will be lost for the remainder of his senior season,” said DePaul head coach Jerry Wainwright. “He represents everything that a coach would want in a player and in a person representing his program. We will all truly miss his experience and leadership. I know everyone associated with DePaul wishes Jabari a complete and speedy recovery.”

Jabari Currie finishes his DePaul career ranked among all-time leaders in assists, games played and three-point field goal percentage. His .359 (70-195) three-point percentage is 12th in DePaul history while the 292 assists are 17th all-time. The 112 games played put Currie in a tie for 23rd all-time and he is just one of 25 DePaul players to play in at least 112 career games.

DePaul hosts Seton Hall on Tuesday night at Allstate Arena in a BIG EAST Conference game. The game is scheduled for an 8 p.m. start.
