Chicago High School Classic All-Star Game

On April 4th, the 2008 Chicago High School Classic boy’s basketball senior All-Star game will take place at Niles North High School (9800 N. Lawler Ave, Skokie, IL 60077). The classic will feature 30 of Illinois’ top high school basketball stars. The game tips at 7:30p with the Champps Slam Dunk Contest and 3-point Shootout starting at 6:30p.m.

23 of the 30 players participating in the 2nd annual Chicago High School Classic will be playing at Division I schools next season. The North All-Stars squad will be led by Simeon coach Robert Smith. The South All-Stars will be led by Decatur Eisenhower coach Jeremy Moore.

The week preceding the Classic, select players will be taking part in promotional and charitable events that included a radio preview on Prep Zone Radio on March 29 from 4-6p.m., a visit to Children’s Memorial Hospital on March 31 from 2:30-4p.m., a visit to the Boys and Girls Club of Chicago’s Daniel A. Cutter Club on April 1st 4-6p.m., and speaking to a youth basketball team at Loyola Park on March 31st 6-8p.m.

Arthur Agee, Jr., star of the basketball documentary “Hoops Dreams” will serve as one of the judges for the slam dunk competition.

The game will be broadcast in the Chicago area on the Comcast Local channel on tape at a later date and will be available for On-Demand viewing on Comcast cable.
