CHICAGO – Former DePaul basketball All-American Terry Cummings will be enshrined in the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame on September 14 at Hawthorne Race Course the organization has announced.
Cummings is part of an 18-member induction class which will also include former

great Richard Dent,

CEO Jerry Colangelo, Big Ten Conference Commissioner Jim Delaney, former
Minnesota Twins
Hall of Fame Centerfielder Kirby Puckett, Bradley Head Basketball Coach Jim Les and Chicago sports radio personality Mike North.
A two-time All-American, Cummings played for the Blue Demons from 1979-82 and amassed 1,398 points and 857 rebounds in his three seasons. He still ranks 12th on the school’s all-time list in scoring and seventh in rebounding. Cummings is one of just three players in

The second pick of the 1982 NBA Draft by the San Diego Clippers, Cummings played in the league from 1982-2000, spending time with San Diego, Milwaukee, San Antonio, Seattle, Philadelphia, Toronto, New York and Golden State. He was the 1983 NBA Rookie of the Year and an All-Star Game participant in 1985 and 1989. Cummings was also named to the All-NBA Team in both the 1985 and 1989.

Cocktails will begin at 6 p.m. with the buffet dinner and ceremony to begin at 6:30.
