Blue Demons in Derrick Rose’s Top Five

Steve Tucker from the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Scout.com's No. 6 prospect in the class of 2007, Chicago Simeon point guard Derrick Rose, has trimmed his wish list to five. As reported by the paper in an interview with Derrick’s older brother Reggie Rose, the list reads DePaul, Indiana, Kansas, Memphis and UCLA.

The University of Illinois is no longer in the picture for the services of the elite point guard.

The DePaul Blue Demons and coach Jerry Wainwright remain the Chicago hometown choice for the 6-3 point guard.

Rose will look to schedule official visits to all five schools.

Derrick impressed college coaches playing with his MeanStreets Express teammates on the AAU circuit and at the 2006 Reebok ABCD Camp this summer. MeanStreets Express won the Nike Peach Jam championship in June.

Rose led Simeon to the Illinois High School Association Class AA Championship this spring.
