With retribution and hopes for an NCAA Tournament bid on their mind, St. John's (19-11, 9-8) came ready to play and took it to DePaul (11-19, 3-14) early and had enough in them to overcome a furious second-half DePaul rally to win 72-64 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday afternoon before a crowd of 10,670.
