Big East Tracker 2.0

As the regular season comes into its final moments, looks at who can take it all and how inside.

After this past weekend, the top seed for the Big East Conference regular season race as well as the upcoming tournament has become more clear.

The list of potential teams to clinch the #1 spot has been cut in half, from six to three.

Here are the squads still in the hunt:

For the Georgetown Hoyas to win:

Winning out in their final two games is the easiest road for Georgetown to sustain top status to close the regular season.

If Louisville or Marquette ties Georgetown, the Hoyas would still take the regular season title and top seed in the tournament because they defeated both in head-to-head contests.

For the Louisville Cardinals to win:

The only way for the Cardinals to claim the top spot requires some help. Along with Louisville having to win their last two games to get to 14 conference wins, they will need Georgetown not to win their final contests.

For the Marquette Golden Eagles to win:

Marquette's lone means of winning the Big East is to win their final two games, have Georgetown lose both of theirs, and Louisville do no better than 13-5.

Eliminated: Syracuse Orange, Pittsburgh Panthers, and Notre Dame Fighting Irish Recommended Stories
