DePaul Women Bounce Back, Beat Howard

CHICAGO- The DePaul women's basketball team is known under its coach, Doug Bruno, for its offensive prowess. But it used defensive assistance from an All-America player on last year's roster to help get the win Saturday night versus Howard University.

Jasmine Penny scored 15 points and provided a stellar defensive effort against the Lady Bison's Saadia Doyle to help DePaul (2-1) defeat Howard 68-51 at McGrath-Phillips Arena. Doyle is averaging 26 ppg this season and had a 36-point outburst versus No. 8 Penn State last Sunday, but she did not score her first field goal tonight until 12:35 of the first half.
